Discourse on Teachers’ Day

今天是中国第28个教师节。
尊师重教是中国的优良传统，早在公元前11世纪的西周时期，就提出“弟子事师，敬同于父”，古代大教育家孔子更是留下了“有教无类”、“温故而知新”、“学而时习之”等一系列至理名言。“传道、授业、解惑”的教师，被中国人誉为人类灵魂的工程师。
Today is the 28th Chinese Teachers’
Day.
The respect for teachers and their teachings is China’s
fine tradition.
As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty in the 11th
century BC, the view that disciple should
serve his or her teacher with the same respect for his or her father has
been put forward.
The ancient educationist Confucius left a series
of wisdom sayings, such as “Providing
education for all people without discrimination,” “gaining new insights through
reviewing old materials,” “learning and reviewing it from time to time.” Teachers
who transmit wisdom, impart knowledge and disabuse doubts are honored as the
engineers of human soul by Chinese people.
On September 10th, 1985, the first
Teachers’ Day was renewed and established in China. From then on, the teachers
had their own festival.

years.

is so great, so are their missions.

“百年大计、教育为本”，这种提法很好，是人类的一种智慧和远见卓识。但落实更重要、更迫切、更来得真切实在。
Education is the foundation of national
development in the long run. This
proposition is very good and represents a wisdom, foresight and sagacity of
humanity. However, the implementation is more important, more urgent and more
realistic.
一个不懂得科学创新的民族是没有希望的。
一个不懂得与时俱进的民族是没有希望的。
一个不懂得文明和谐的民族是没有希望的。
A nation that doesn’t know science and innovation
is futureless.
A nation that doesn’t know to advance with the
times is futureless.
A nation that doesn’t know civilization and harmony
is futureless.
一个不懂得平等自由的民族是没有希望的。
一个不懂得和平和睦的民族是没有希望的。
一个不懂得无私奉献的民族是没有希望的。
A nation that doesn’t know equality and freedom is

Osifu hopes that everything of all these will be
more and more wonderful!
Osifu will release his own entire light and love
to love everything with utmost efforts!
