Everything Depends on the Mind

该到位的就会到位，一切皆有机缘。
What is supposed
to reach the designated place will get into the place; everything has its own conditions.
该归位的就会归位，一切皆有机缘。
What is supposed
to return to the prearranged place will be in the place; everything has its own
conditions.
该正位的就会正位，一切皆有机缘。
What is supposed
to conform to the appointed place will take the place; everything has its own
conditions.
机缘到了，会各就各位的。
When the needed conditions
arrive, everyone will take his or her own place.
机缘到了，会各司其职的。
When the needed
conditions arrive, everyone will carry out his or her own duties.
机缘到了，会各负其责的。
When the needed
conditions arrive, everyone will be in charge of his or her own
responsibilities.
机缘到了，会各显其能的。
When the needed
conditions arrive, everyone will show his or her own capabilities.
机缘到了，会各行其事的。

Of course, the

密钥在心
The secret key lies in your mind!
〇曰：心灵妙法的心法是：心正、心善、心诚、心净、与佛相应。
Osifu says: The secret
of the secret-in-secret cultivation method is to be righteous, kindhearted,
sincere, pure and responsive to the Buddha.
做到了，机缘就到了。
When you make it, the
needed conditions will arrive.
做不到，机缘就不到。
When you cannot
make it, the needed conditions will arrive nowhere.
当下做到，当下机缘就到。
When you cannot
make it, the needed conditions will arrive right way.
如是
So it is!
龙女成佛
就是如此。
So it is the way
that the dragon girl became a Buddha.
八岁之龙女由于受持法华经之功德而即身成佛。
The eight years
old dragon girl attained her Buddhahood due to the virtues and merits of accepting
and embracing the Lotus Sutra。
据法华经卷提婆达多品载，龙女即娑竭罗龙王之女，年甫八岁，智慧猛利，诸佛所说甚深秘藏悉能受持，乃于刹那之顷，发菩提心，得不退转。复以一宝珠献佛，以此功德愿力，忽转女成男，具足菩萨行。刹那顷住于南方无垢世界，坐宝莲华中，成正等觉，具足三十二相、八十种好，广为人天说法，娑婆世界之菩萨、声闻、天龙八部、人、非人等皆遥见而欢喜敬礼。
According to the
records in the Lotus Sutra-- Chapter Devadatta, the dragon girl, eight years
old with sharp wisdom, was daughter of the dragon king Sagara. She understood
and was able to accept and embrace all the store house of profound secrets
preached by the Buddhas. Through grasping the doctrines, and in the space of an
instant conceived the desire for Bodhicitta and reached the level of no
regression. Again she presented a precious jewel to the Buddha, with the virtue
and merit she suddenly turned her female image into a man carrying out all the
practices of a Bodhisattva. In an instant, she was proceeding to the Southern
pure land taking a seat on a jeweled lotus and attaining the ultimate
enlightenment. With thirty-two features
and eighty characteristics, he expounded the wonderful Law for all living
beings everywhere in the ten directions. The Bodhisattvas, hearers, dragons and
others of the eight divisions of the heavenly deities，human,
non-human beings in the Saha land saw that and were filled with great joy and
revere all from a distance paid reverent obeisance.
灵鷲山上 龙女现身：
At the Vulture
Peak, the Dragon Girl Appeared:
在妙法莲华经提婆达多品中，有一段叙述八龄龙女即身成佛的故事。
In the Lotus
Sutra- Chapter Devadatta, there is a paragraph described the story about the
dragon girl attaining Buddhahood.
娑竭罗龙王威震四海，他最小的一位公主，聪明伶俐，善根深厚，年龄才八岁的时候，就有很多不平凡的奇迹，「龙女」，大家都这样尊敬的称呼她。
The dragon king
Sagara had a prestigious reputation among the four seas, and his youngest
princess was very clever and sensible with deep and good foundations. She had
many unusual miracles when she was eight years old and all respectfully called
her the dragon girl.
小小年纪的龙女，生性就和别的女孩子不同，好吃的糖果，好玩的玩具，在她都不感兴趣，她最喜欢的就是听闻宇宙的玄奇，人生的奥秘。
The very young-aged dragon girl was very different from other
girls, and she was not interested in delicious candies or fun toys. Her
favorite thing is to hear about the mysticism of the Universe and the mysteries
of life.
有一天，大智慧的文殊菩萨，端坐在千叶的大莲花之上，出现在娑罗竭龙王的宫中，他代表佛陀宣说微妙的法理，八岁的龙女，深深的被感动，他仰慕思念佛陀，请求文殊菩萨即刻带她到灵鷲山去礼拜佛陀，听闻佛法。
One day, Bodhisattva Manjusri, the embodiment of great wisdom,
sitting on a big thousand petaled lotus appeared in the dragon king Sagara’s palace. He expounded
the esoteric Law on behalf of the Buddha, and the eight year old dragon girl
was deeply touched. She admired and missed the Lord Buddha and asked
Bodhisattva Manjusri immediately taking her to the Vulture Peak to worship the
Lord Buddha and hear Dharma。
灵鷲山上，苍松翠柏，曼陀罗花吐露芬芳，诸大菩萨、诸大罗汉所云集的法华会上，幼年的龙女，跟随文殊菩萨，就参予其间。
On the Vulture
Peak, there were pines and cypresses, and Datura flower were revealing the
fragrance. All the great Bodhisattvas and great Arhats all gathered at the assembly
of Lotus. The young dragon girl followed the Bodhisattva Manjusri participating
in the meeting.
童年龙女
得陀罗尼：
The Childhood Dragon
Girl Attained the Dharani:
佛陀讲完了妙法莲华经的一乘道理後，有一位智积菩萨就请问文殊菩萨道：“大德文殊师利！我请问你，像佛陀宣说的妙法莲华经，甚深微妙。世所悉有，若有众生，勤加精进，遵照此经修行，能不能很快的成佛呢？”
After the Buddha finished expounding the absolute truth of the
Lotus Sutra, there was one called Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated who questioned
the Bodhisattva Manjusri,
saying: “My Lord Manjusri, I want to ask
you that the Lotus Sutra as expounded by the Buddha is a profound, subtle and wonderful
treasure among sutras, and a rarity in the world. Are there perhaps any living beings that will
be able to attain the Buddhahood quickly by earnestly and diligently practicing
this sutra? ”
文殊菩萨稍微沉默了一会就回答道：“大德！据我所知，娑竭罗王的龙女，年才八岁。她听闻佛陀讲说此经以後，就已经证得陀罗尼了。”
The Bodhisattva
Manjusri replied after a quick silence: “My Lord, as far as I known, the dragon
king Sagara’s daughter was
only eight years old. She attained the
Dharani after hearing the Buddha expounded this sutra. ”
智积菩萨听到文殊菩萨这麼一说，很感意外，以佛陀的首座弟子，大智慧的文殊菩萨，没有赞扬诸大菩萨和诸大罗汉，而为一个小女孩捧场。在智积菩萨的意思，八岁小女孩，无论怎麼说，也不能证得陀罗尼。
The Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated heard the Bodhisattva Manjusri saying so, was very surprised that the
Buddha’s first disciple, the great wisdom of Bodhisattva Manjusri did not
praise the great Bodhisattvas and great Arhats but a little girl. According to
the understanding of the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated that an eight years old
young girl could not attain the Dharani no matter how clever she was.
智积菩萨摇摇头，表示难以起信的样子。文殊菩萨又再说道：“大德！八岁的龙女，年龄虽小，而她的智慧利根，却非一般人可及。佛陀所宣讲深奥的秘藏，她都能知解，佛陀指示修学的行门，她都能受持。她已经发大菩提心，真真实实的得不退转。”
The Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated shook his head as it was
hard for him to believe that. The
Bodhisattva Manjusri again replied: “My Lord, the eight years old dragon
girl, though is very young, her wisdom and sharp foundations are much more
profound than any ordinary. She understands the profound secrets preached by
the Buddha and she could accept and embrace the practice methods instructed by
the Buddha. She has conceived the great Bodhicitta and truly reached the level
of non-retreat. ”
智积菩萨仍然以不信的口吻说道：“文殊师利菩萨！我见到佛陀释迦如来，在无量劫以来，就修学难行的苦行，积功累德，从未中断，然後方成正觉。我不信八岁的女孩，便成正觉。”
The Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated still with an unbelievable
tone said: “Manjusri Bodhisattva, I saw that before the Buddha Sakyamuni
Tathagata attained the ultimate enlightenment he had been practiced the ascetic
practices very hardly to accumulate virtues and merits since limitless eons and
never interrupted. I don’t believe an eight-year-old girl can attain the right
enlightenment.”
智积菩萨的话刚说完，龙女忽然出现在他的眼前，并且温和庄重的对智积菩萨顶礼。
Just right after the words of the Bodhisattva Wisdom
Accumulated had come to an end the dragon girl suddenly appeared before him and
bowed her head in obeisance.
一位已经登地的菩萨，在这麼一位女孩之前，不得不感到非常尴尬。
As a Bodhisattva attained the saint fruit had to feel very
embarrassed in front of such a little girl.
不信女身
速得成佛：
Not believe one
can attain the unsurpassed Buddhahood in a female’s body.
智积菩萨，见到龙女，不好意思再说什麼，而一向看轻女人的舍利弗尊者，也很不服气的对龙女说道：“我们的文殊菩萨，说你不久将获证无上道，这个事情叫我们难以相信！”
Seeing the dragon girl, the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated was
too embarrassed to say anything. However, the venerable Spariputra, who always underestimated
the women saying to the dragon girl with an unbending tone: “Our Bodhisattva Manjusri
said you will attain the unsurpassed Way, which is difficult to believe.”
“这不是相信不相信的问题，因为事实就是这样。”在看轻女人的舍利弗之前，龙女也不甘示弱。
“This is not your
choice to believe or not because it is the fact.” The dragon girl was also
reluctant to show weakness in front of Spariputra who always underestimated the
women.
“女身垢秽，非是法器，五障缠身，云何能得无上佛道？”舍利弗不客气的说。
“A woman’s body is soiled and defiled, not a vessel for the Law also with the
Five Skandhas always troubles you, and how could you attain the unsurpassed Buddhism
Way?”
文殊菩萨看不过去，解释道：“尊者舍利弗！你不可以这麼说，女人的身体、容貌，和男人相较或有不同，但佛性平等，不但男女一样，佛陀说，大地众生皆有如来智慧德相。青年的男女，才是菩萨的悲愿、热情、勇敢、进取、牺牲的最好象徵。”
The Bodhisattva Manjusri felt that it was more than enough and
explained: “My venerable Spariputra, you cannot say that, a woman’s body and
looks may be different from a man but the Buddha Nature is equal not only among
women and men, but all the sentient beings on earth have the Buddha wisdom and
virtue. Young men and women are the best symbols of the Bodhisattva’s
compassionate resolve, enthusiasm, courage, enterprising and sacrifice.”
舍利弗尊者，什麼事情都可以随缘，唯有对於女人，总觉得男子才是无上至尊的。
The venerable Spariputra can accept anything according to
situations but only for the women, he always felt that the man is superior to a
woman.
现在，尤其一个才八岁的龙女，他那里相信她很快的成佛呢？虽然有文殊菩萨的解释，舍利弗不再开口了，但他心中仍有男女不平等的观念。
At that time,
especially an eight-year-old dragon girl, how could he believe she would attain
the Buddhahood? Although with the explanation from the Bodhisattva Manjusri, Spariputra
was no longer speaking but deep down he still had the inequality concept
between men and women.
舍利弗记起了过去在维摩丈室中，给天女戏谑的一幕，他总以为，就算女人也有大的修行，那里能说很快的成佛呢？
Sapriputta reminded himself that he was fooled by the
celestial girls in the meditation room of Vimalakirti, so he always thought
that even women also had well practices but how they could attain the
Buddhahood so quickly?
坐宝莲华 成等正觉
Sitting on a Jeweled Louts and Attaining the Ultimate
Enlightenment
龙女知道舍利弗的根性，他想，在有著深厚法执的人前，说上再多的道理，也是空费唇舌，不若用事实说明，教你总不能不信。
The dragon girl knew the temperament of Sapriputta, and he
thought that it would be wasting of breath saying too much in front of somebody
who had a profound persistence in the Law, and one could not deny the fact
while proved it by the reality.
当时龙女的身上，有一颗价值很贵重的宝珠，她就用双手捧著送去给佛陀，佛陀接受以後，龙女回过头来，走到智积菩萨和舍利弗面前，很有礼貌的问道：「刚才我把宝珠奉献给佛陀，佛陀慈悲的接受，像这样的时间，快不快呢？」
At that time the
dragon girl had a very precious jewel with her, so she presented it in hands to
the Buddha. After the Buddha accepted it she turned her head around and walked to
the Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated and the venerable Spariputra, saying in a very polite tone: “I
presented the precious jewel to the Buddha and the Buddha’s compassionate
accepting of it—was that done quickly?”
“很快的！”智积菩萨和舍利弗都这样的回答。
“Very quickly!” the
Bodhisattva Wisdom Accumulated
and the venerable Spariputra replied.
“请你们运用神力观看，我马上就能成佛，比献珠的时间还快上几倍哩！”
“Employ your supernatural powers and watch me, and I shall
attain Buddhahood even quicker than that!”
龙女说後，会中大众，皆见龙女忽然间变为男子，具足菩萨行，即往南方无垢世界，坐在大宝莲华之中，成就无上正等正觉，普为十方世界一切众生，演说无上甚深微妙之法。
Soon after the
dragon girl’s statement, the members of the
assembly saw the dragon girl instantly changed into a man and carried out all
the practices of a Bodhisattva, immediately proceeding to the southern pure
land, taking a seat on a jeweled lotus and attaining the unsurpassed ultimate
enlightenment, expounding the esoteric and wonderful Law for all the sentient
beings everywhere in the ten directions.
龙女很多,为何分别呢？
There are many
dragon girls, and why should we make distinguish?
我们参悟其义，不搞佛学研究
We study and
understand the meaning implied in it but not engage in Buddhism Research.

密钥在心
The secret key
lies in your mind.
〇曰：心直路直，心曲路曲。
Osifu says: A
straightforward mind walks on a straight way, while a crooked mind walks on a
crooked way.
〇曰：心正路正，心邪路邪。
Osifu says: A
righteous mind walks on a righteous way, while an evil mind walks on an evil
way.
〇曰：心平路平，心险路险。
Osifu says: A
peaceful mind walks on a peaceful way, while a vicious mind walks on a vicious
way.
〇曰：心净路净，心浊路浊。
Osifu says: A pure
mind walks on a pure way, while a defiled mind walks on a defiled way.
〇曰：心转路转，心执路死。
Osifu says: One
with his or her mind tuned to kindness will step onto the right way, while one with
his or her mind persisting in anything evil will walk into a dead end.
〇曰：心有路有，心空路无。
Osifu says: there
is still a way for one with thoughts in mind, while there would be nihility for
one with emptiness in mind.
〇曰：密钥在心。
Ossify says: The
secret key lies in your mind.
〇曰：成佛在心。
Ossify says:
Attaining Buddhahood depends on your mind.
〇曰：提升在心。
Ossify says: The
ascension depends on your mind.
〇曰：坠落在心。
Ossify says: The
falling down depends on your mind.
〇曰：净化在心。
Ossify says: The
purification depends on your mind.
〇曰：升华在心。
Ossify says: The
sublimation depends on your mind.
